Gorog's face was a mask of hatred as he stared at the advancing silver
shadows. He snarled his words to his Necromutant companion, a swarthy
fighter named Arbak, who had fought beside him through the entire New
Gladius campaign.

"They mean to hunt us, to take the beauty that Algeroth gave us out of our
bodies, so that they make money from it. They are the worst kind of fools.
Kill them all."

It was a fine speech for a seven-foot tall monster whose attention was
primarily devoted to the large firearm implanted in place of his lower jaw.

Summary

Cybertronic's technological advantage is predicated upon the theft and adaption of Dark Legion technology. Cybertronic needs a constant flow of new technology to maintain its edge over its opponents, and there is but one way it can get this technology - on the battlefield.

The Dark Legion seized Metaville as part of a Legion attempt to infiltrate the Cybertronic communications network. Unfortunately, Infiltrator Nazar died of severe wounds to the head, throat, arms, abdomen, legs and right ventricle before he could plant the subreality virus into Metaville's network. Centurion Gorog assumed control of the Legion forces, and is currently holding Metaville until he can be relieved.

Victory Conditions

The Cybertronic player wins if he can get three samples off either of his entry board edges by turn 12. Should the Cybertronic player fail in his mission, the Dark Legion is successful.

Terrain Set-Up

Metaville should conist of whatever buildings you have on hand, surrounded by patches of jungle, scrub, rice paddy or groves. Whether or not the buildings may be entered should depend upon how complex a game you want. Table size is at the player's discretion.

Deployment

The Dark Legion forces deploy within Metaville's boundaries. Cybertronic forces may deploy along opposite board edges in standard deployment zones. The Dark Legion player places the first unit during deployment.

Dark Legion Forces

5 squads of 1 Centurion (w/ Voriche pistol and Skalak sword) and 3 Necromutants (w/ Belzarach rifles and Sectioner bayonets) each.

Centurion+Necromutant squads may be withdrawn and replaced on a one-for-one basis with Templar Squads (High Templar (Kratach, Sword) + 4 Templars (Kratach, Sword), Heretic Legionnaire Squads (Heretic (any nonheavy weapon + one dark gift) + 8 Heretic Legionnaires (Kratach or Voriche/Skalak), Undead Legionnaire Squads (Centurion (Voriche pistol and Skalak sword) and 8 Undead Legionnaires (Kratach rifles) or Blessed Legionnaires (Curator with Plague Gun, Curator Sword and One Dark Gift, and 6 Blessed Legionnaires (Kratach rifles). You may have only one of each alternative squad in your army.

Each Dark Legion squad leader has one item of the Dark Technology chosen from the list on page 13 of Dawn of War. No duplicates are allowed.

Cybertronic Forces

650 points plus a free Dr. Diana. The Cybertronic player may not outfit his units with flamethrowers (they would spoil the samples).

Special Rules

  1. No Dark Legion figure may exit the map. Cybertronic forces may exit the map along an entry board edge if they are in possession of a sample. Cybertronic figures with samples may move as if they were individual models for purposes of command distance. Cybertronic forces which exit the board may not return to play.

  2. Obtaining Samples: Eliminated Dark Legion squad leaders should be placed on their side, instead of being eliminated. A non-A.I. Cybertronic figure may attempt to "harvest" the figure for a sample by moving adjacent to it and spending two actions. If it has the Field Surgery skill, it checks against its full LD. If it lacks the field surgery skill, it checks against 1/2 (rounded down) its LD.

1 Perfect Success. The figure gets a sample counter and only spends one action. Remove the Dark Legion model.
2 to <= LD. Success. The figure gets a sample counter. Remove the Dark Legion model.
      >LD. Failure. The actions are wasted.
      19. The figure botches the process. The actions are wasted. Remove the Dark Legion model.
      20. The Dark Legion model is booby trapped! It explodes, delivering damage to everything under the grenade template. Remove the Dark Legion model.
A character with Field Surgery may have any number of sample counters. Other characters may only have one counter each.

  3. The Cybertronic player has his number of samples required reduced by one if he kills a Heretic, Curator or High Templar. He only recieves this reduction once.

Cybertronic Victory

In the event of a Cybertronic victory, the Cybertronic RDM division eventually produces a new series of cybernetic battle upgrades improving Chasseur battlefield performance by 10%.

Dark Legion Victory

In the event of a Dark Legion victory, Gorog (if still alive) survives the ensuing airstrike and is taken before Alakhai, who promotes him to Pretorian Stalker status.

Peter Bogdasarian

"But I hate mobs, lynchings - they sicken me. No matter how wrong the man is, if a mob's against him, I'm for him. The only thing I ever pray to God for is a chance some day to sit down behind a machinegun with a lynching party in front of me."
