Alternate Shotgun Rules
by Jim Williamson

Black Line

Note: These rules apply to all corporate shotguns only, including the Capitol M516D.

Modified Choke Shotguns

When you purchase a shotgun for a model, you must specify whether the shotgun has a narrow, standard or wide choke. It is not possible to change the choke on a shotgun during battle. DAM ratings and points costs remain the same for each of the different shotguns.

Narrow Choke Shotgun
A shotgun with a narrow choke has, as you might have guessed, a narrow area of effect, but an increased range. To simulate this, all narrow choke shotguns use the long, thin flamethrower template. All normal rules for shotguns still apply.

Standard Choke Shotgun
A standard choke shotgun uses the normal shotgun template.

Wide Choke Shotgun
A wide choke shotgun has an extremely wide field of fire, but a very short range. To simulate this, wide choke shotguns use the Magmascorcher template. All normal rules for shotguns still apply.

Slug Ammunition for Shotguns

  CR MX RM DAM COST
Shotgun Slugs -- 15 -1 12(x2) 3

  1. A shotgun using slug ammunition may not be aimed, they are just too innaccurate.
  2. If a model using a shotgun wishes to switch from standard ammunition to slug ammunition (or vice versa), the model must expend one action (to simulate loading the new ammo).
  3. The Capitol M516D may not use slug ammunition (Mitch can't buy it anyway).
  4. A slug may only hit one model (it does not use a template).
  5. A shotgun with a modified choke may still fire slugs.
  6. Any model struck by a slug, and not killed, is knocked to the ground. When the affected model is next activated, it must expend one action to stand up.
