Capitol Marine Raiders
by Brian J. Bair

The Marine Raiders is a special forces unit based on Venus who specialize in flanking tactics. As fighting commences, they maneuver themselves into position along side their enemies. They attack with guns blazing creating chaos among enemy ranks. Famed for their lightning style and deadly tactics, many Imperial and Dark Legion forces have suffered many devastating loses throughout the years. And because they are deployed near Capitols boundaries, many foreign incursions on Capitol territory have been dealt with accordingly. The Marine Raiders have even fought along side Admiral Colbys Guard during long range sabotage missions.

Special Rules: To simulate their unique fighting style, the Marine Raiders can come onto the board anywhere (they must be no more than three inches from the edge of the board). The Marine Raiders must deploy during the fist turn. They cannot come onto the same side of the board in which the enemy has been deployed. (If there are more then two players, then the Marine Raiders can deploy between two opposing forces, as long as the closest figure from each opposing force is equaled distant away from the squad leader.) They deploy with all their actions. Marine Raiders have the Steadfast and Gunfighter special abilities.

Equipment: Both Troopers and Sergeants are armed with two SHERMAN 500s. One trooper may be equipped with a M89 HMG. Captains may be armed with any weapons from the Capitol or General Armory lists.

Structure: Marine Raiders are organized into squads of 3-5 Troopers and one Sergeant. Captains are purchased as individual models.

NEW WEAPONS

Sherman 500 SMG

Built by Capitol's leading arms producer, the Sherman Arms Corporation. These weapons were built for freelance missions into Imperial territory on Venus to locate prisoners of war. They became very popular among their users and quickly made their way to Capitols armed forces. They have been given the nickname "Imp Killers" because of their effectiveness against the armor of Imperials special forces. Only a limited number have been produced, thus, these weapons have been reserved for Capitols special forces. However, many anticipate a bill being passed in the next year or two enabling the mass production the S500, making the CAR-24 obsolete. This will enable infantry units equip the S500 as a standard issue sidearm.

NEW SPECIAL ABILITIES

STEADFAST:

This special ability is reserved for warriors with great determination to complete a mission or dedication to uphold their beliefs and way of life. These warriors take normal panic test but are not subject to the normal rules that apply. If they fail the test, they do not flee like normal troops, but instead are shaken. Thus, these warriors may never move towards the enemy, but may use any other actions as normal. They may, however, move away from the enemy if you would like. If surrounded, they may not move at all.

When a shaken squad attempts and fails the panic roll again they rout like normal troops. Once a squad is broken they flee like any other troops. Broken squads may also rally like any other troops.
