After seeing the success that Capitol’s Martian Banshees have enjoyed, Imperial tacticians have decided to form an elite corps of jump infantry.  Drawing from the best of the Imperial Blood Berets, Golden Lions, Highlanders, Wolfbanes, Air Cavalry, Wolfbane Light Cavalry, Trencher Battalions and 2nd Life Dragoons, a new corps of highly skilled commandos have been formed: The Peregrines.  The Peregrines are being bred to become a replacement for the Wolfbanes in missions which require extreme precision and speed.  This decision does not sit well with the Wolfbane council and a conflict may be brewing.

Structure:  Peregrines are purchased in squads of 2-4 and one Sergeant. Captains are individual models.

 

Equipment:  Peregrine Troops are armed with Aggressor Pistols and Chainrippers.  One of them may replace their weapons with a Heavy weapon or may be issued any Light Mortar shell type to be used as a bomb.  Bombs can only be used while in flight and only with an engage action.  Sergeants are equipped with a Raider Plasma SMG (see below) and a Chainripper.  Captains may be equipped with whatever weapon they choose, typically a Mandible Shotgun or a Plasma Carbine.  All Peregrines may have Jump Packs (MV:10) for an additional 10 points per model.

 

Special Abilities and Training:  Peregrines are Special Forces and receive the bonuses that are available for Imperial Special Forces.  Close Combat Training  and Close Quarters Battle

 

Special Rules:  Wolfbane and Peregrine squads  may NEVER be controlled by the same player.

 

 

Raider Plasma SMG:

 

Imperial Technicians have been working on producing a powerful and accurate hand gun and have come up with the Raider.  Clan Fieldhausen gunsmiths have been able to strip down and miniaturize the reliable Lyon & Atkinson Plasma Carbine, creating a powerful and deadly Sidearm.  This compact weapon is just coming into circulation with frontline units and is sure to soon replace the venerable Aggressor Automatic Pistol.
