You can choose the traditional route and stick to your red or blue roots with new Alliance and Horde class heroes, but if you attend your local Release Party, you'll pick up this free Monster ally promo card! Time Warp Comics & Games will be hosting a Aftermath: Crown of the Heavens Release Party on February 11th. This event introduces players to the new set through Sealed Pack format. Any player who participates in this event recieves one (1) Jadefire Scout foil promo card (while supplies last).

The next advancement in WARMACHINE and HORDES leagues is mobilizing for action June 20th! The 2011 Shattered Grounds league throws players into the trenches of the Iron Kingdoms with a wholly immersive experience as they fight for the glory of their faction.

Focused Fields of War

Each Shattered Grounds season focuses on conflicts within specific areas of the Iron Kingdoms that players worldwide will battle to control. Players will still vie for dominance in their local store, but every game played contributes to the success of their faction on the global map. The Shattered Grounds league map will be updated daily as factions war for control over vital strategic points, preparing for the earth-shattering climax of the three-week league. Control of certain map sections provides global bonuses to the controlling faction, so expect particular zones to be a hotbed of activity depending on their strategic importance to the various WARMACHINE and HORDES forces. Season Models

In addition to the interactive map, each Shattered Grounds season will include models used only for the league that represent some of the characters, warjacks, or units found in the league' stories. Select models in each faction will take on new characteristics for the duration of the league season, including new abilities, increased stats, and other changes that allow them to represent the specialists taking part in the particular campaign. These new season models are still represented by their regular models on the tabletop, but use the season model stats card instead of the standard card in all league games giving players flavorful new options as they wage war in the specific Iron Kingdoms environment.

Format

Battles can be either 35 or 50 points.

The first twenty-four players to register for this event receive a foil gameplay-exclusive holiday-themed participation card, Apothecary Hummel.

The winner of this event is awarded a Love is in the Air playmat. Another Love is in the Air playmat will be given out as a random door prize.

Dark Ascension Game Day features the Standard format, showcasing the new cards in the most popular format world-wide. A selection of the Top 8 decks will be published on the Wizards website.

Entry Fee: $10.00

Game Days are Standard Constructed format. We will be requiring completed deck lists. The tournament will be Swiss-style, with the number of rounds determined by attendance.

The top 8 players after the Swiss rounds will advance to the single-elimination finals. In the case of an event with 16 players or less, the Swiss rounds will be followed by a cut to top 4. Where necessary, the standings after the Swiss rounds will be used to determine final order in the standings.

In the case of an event with exactly 8 players, there will be three Swiss rounds with no single-elimination cut.

All participants receive a promotional card (while supplies last). The top 8 players each receive an exclusive full-art promo card. The cards are awarded to the Top 8 players even if the tournament cuts only to the top 4. Two full-art promo cards will also be awarded as door prizes.

Dark Ascension Game Day starts at 6:00pm. On-site registration begins at 5:00pm.
